This has been an entirely different week - slow going is no more, we're now on the thruway doing 100! Up until Sunday Monique had been taking her feedings orally only periodically - typically in the morning she'd take one or two, then she wouldn't wake up the rest of the day. On Sunday she woke up for all of her feedings except one. The next morning they pulled the feeding tube out because she was doing so well.
On Monday her feeding tube was removed and she had a hearing test that came out fine. On Tuesday we were told that two babies are going home this week and Monique is one of them. In preparation for that she had to pass the car seat challenge. (Can't you hear that being said in that deep, echoey voice used in advertisments?) The challenge involves her sitting in a car seat, within an hour after feeding, for an hour. During that time her oxygen and heart rate levels are monitored and they must stay at a healthy level for her to be allowed to level. She passed like a champ!
