Almost another week has passed and it's been slow going. Yesterday she was moved back up to the NICU because of staffing reasons - there were not enough babies that were well enough for them to keep two nurses in the transition unit for the three babies that were there. The biggest drawback to this, other than the greater restrictions on visiting, space and the increased noise level, is the fact that she is now back under the care of Doctor Johnston instead of our pediatrician. Not that we've had an issue with either one, but it's unfortunate that they switch her care based upon where she is.
On the plus side she's still gaining weight - she's about 4lbs 1 oz now. Also, she was given the bottle for her 6:30 pm feeding and she drank all of it! Epecially good since she's been better at the breast than the bottle, so we're hopefully that she'll keep kicking butt with her feedings. Finally, her bradycardia alarms have been pretty low. She's had 3 since the 18th, one while she was sleeping and the other two were when she was breast feeding and when she was hiccupping. Apparently all babies have their heartrate slow down when feeding and the hiccup one they figure was a fluke. So only one of the three really counts! :)
