Let's see if I can recap the Coutu Happenings since our last post in September...
There is the obvious Halloween in October. Monique dressed up as Snow White and we went trick-or-treating with our neighbors, Brandon and Kelsey and then met up with her buds Jeremy and Joseph half way around the block. Monique came home with a TON of candy. When I would say 'just one Monique' she interpreted that to mean 'just one huge handful'. She was a pro at the whole trick-or-treating thing! While we were walking, she fell and her only concern was finding all the candy she dropped.
With the fall and Halloween time, comes pumpkins and picking them out of the pumpkin patch and carving. We took Monique and her buds, Jeremy and Joseph to pick out pumpkins. The kids had a great time and Jeremy and Joseph went on a mission to pick out the biggest pumpkin they could find :) Afterwards, Dave and Monique carved the pumpkin she picked out. We also went to Vermont in October to hang out with the Yager's and catch up with friends for a weekend. The kids had a blast together, as always. Here are some pictures we took of the kids playing in the leaves. You'll also find pictures of Monique giving Dave a haircut :) While we were there. Dave got a fix of games with a game night with the guys and I got an evening out with the girls. We went into Burlington for dinner and a couple of drinks. It was Laurie, Cathy, Jill, Christine, and me. Saturday morning, while the guys played ultimate, the girls met at Cathy's house and we took the kids for a hike. Hmm, that reminds me, I need to get pictures from Cathy of all the kids together :)
Hmm, what else? Oh, Misty and Mike came to visit us for a weekend too. We had another fun weekend! Misty and Mike took all the kids to the Ecotarium on Friday. Friday evening we took the kids on a haunted trail walk. Monique was a little scared and we had to ask a couple of the people to take their masks off so she could see that they were pretending. Then on Saturday we took the kids to the Boston Children's Museum. At the Children's Museum they have a 3 story indoor climbing contraption (not sure what to call it). The whole thing is enclosed in netting and once a child is in, they must either get out all the way at the top or back at the bottom. Needless to say, I was a little nervous about letting Monique climb through it. I was worried she would get stuck, trapped or scared mid way through. She went with William and Caroline though and they were great with her. They helped her and she made it all the way through! You can check out pictures from their visit here.
Last, but certainly not least :), our bud Justin came to visit us from Texas. Justin is originally from the Boston area and wanted to show Dave and I a night out in 'Bean Town' so Dave and I got the neighbor's son to babysit for us for the night and we ventured out with Justin and Tim (a friend from Vermont who came down to experience a night out in Boston with Justin). I will let you read about our night out from Justin's blog. FYI, the pictures may make it look like i had a little too much to drink ... but don't let them fool you. Through the course of the evening, I had 3 drinks and then had to switch to water because my stomach started to hurt. My wild and crazy alsohol (mis-spelling intentional) days seem to be something of the past.
So what's ahead for the Coutu's? Just typical Holiday stuff. We are getting Monique's Christmas pictures taken today at Sears. We are leaving Wednesday to head to Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving to see my family and help my mom move. We are still trying to iron out our Christmas holiday plans, but I am positive we will find ourselves in Vermont again soon :)
As most of you know, our friend Janice had been staying with us since March is off on another adventure and has moved out. She is heading to New Zealand for 2 months with her boyfriend Chris and then moving in with him when they return. For those of you that know Janice, you can follow her on her journey through her blog. We will miss Janice living with us but we are also happy to have the house back to ourselves :)
