Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The holidays have busy as usual but fun. For Thanksgiving we stayed in Vermont and spent the day with Dave's family.

We were in Vermont for Christmas too. We went to Pittsburgh to visit Amy's the weekend before Christmas. On our way there, we realized about 50 miles too late that we missed the exit we were suppose to take for 88 and we were still on 90. After checking out the map, we decided to stay on 90 and take a trip to Niagra Falls. It made for a very long day, but Dave had never been there and we got a really good picture of Dave and Monique by the falls, so it was worth it!

We got to visit lots of family in Pittsburgh. Santa came to the party at Amy's mom's house. Monique was a little apprehensive of Santa. She was ok as long as she wasn't on Santa's lap. She wasn't certain how to react to the big and hairy guy all dressed in red who says "HO HO HO".

Christmas Eve we had some friends over for dinner. We ate a lot and enjoyed hanging out with everyone. Yes, there was too much ham. Would it be an Amy party without too much ham? Christmas morning we spent at home together and Monique opened her gifts from Santa. We then went to Dave's brother's house and spent the afternoon with his family.

Between Amy's family in Pittsburgh, Santa and Dave's family in Vermont, Monique became a pro at unwrapping gifts!

We really enjoyed seeing everyone and spending the holidays with our family and friends. That's what the season is truly all about for us ... family, friends and the joy of giving. We have been very fortunate and have so much to be thankful for.

Amy's mom, sister and Amy's niece are coming to visit New Year's Eve weekend. We are looking forward to the visit. It should be a good time!
